The Georgian Bay Folk Society and Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce have signed an agreement that will provide shuttle bus service to and from the site of the Summerfolk Festival this year. Habitat for Humanity will organize shuttle bus service for festival goers coming from communities, campgrounds and vacation spots in Grey, Bruce and Simcoe counties.
A specific list of pick up and drop off points is being developed at this time and will be made available later this spring.
This is a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity Grey Bruce. Proceeds from shuttle ticket sales will go towards local projects such as building new affordable, sustainable homes in Grey Bruce. Prices for shuttle tickets will vary depending on location but will be reasonable.
Blair Jewell, Director of Affiliate Operations for Habitat, states, "This is a great opportunity to reduce drinking and driving, support a greener environment and break the cycle of poverty by helping people gain access to affordable and sustainable housing in Grey Bruce. Take a bus ride with us to Summerfolk this summer."
